| Dave Hastings - Director |
David Hastings, owner of The Windsor Forest Company, Inc. in Yorba Linda, California, founded ECO-RACING.ORG. For over twenty-five years his company has manufactured custom furniture, flooring and interior woodwork for very exclusive clients. In recent years he recognized the need to be a better steward of the natural resources his company was using.
In 2007, The Windsor Forest Company, Inc. was granted certification from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) to use ecologically-friendly harvested materials and became a member of the U.S. Green Building Council. While acquiring an education in Green Building practices, new concerns arose for Dave. Having been an avid Formula One fan since the late seventies and with his two sons desiring to undertake kart racing, Dave had growing concerns about the two seemingly unparallel paths they were on.
After analyzing the needs in racing and karting in general, the opportunity arose to not only educate racers and spectators concerning the environment but also help to implement recycling programs within the racing community. While many environmentalists don't see the need for motor sports, Dave feels that Eco-Racing.Org can help both survive and grow.
